I have dimming mirrors on my car and in all honesty I do not find these to cause me glare. You see the lights, but the rounded nature of them does not produce glare directly in your face like the flat side mirrors do. I also recall a lot of people having that blue film degrade quickly with aftermarket units.

BTW, it's pretty much impossible to take a photo of a convex mirror without getting yourself and your phone in the frame!
