If this is any indication, a new RX is coming. I don't think Mazda would have bothered with this if it wasn't doing some major R&D to improve what is the rotary's biggest reliability-related weakness: even cooling.
If it's good ... I may not be in a BMW by this time in 2019.
That said ... I agree with
Blksnowflake : Mazda's timing isn't very good regarding the Speed models' deprecation. But the company's got other struggles. Despite all the glowing reviews, the fuel pump recall for Mazda3s last fall really hurt that model's sales, to the point where they're selling well below invoice, on average, in many U.S. markets. A friend just picked up a new 2016 Mazda3 GT for almost $2,500 below invoice last week.
