2020 X1's in the US use the new ZF sideways 8 speed. They may not have changed it yet for your market, but they likely will since BMW just did a pretty large deal w/ZF to provide that transmission.
I haven't driven the horizontal ZF 8 speed, but I'd agree that compared to the F40 ZF and Aisin in the X1, there is very little to choose between them. |
Do you have a source for this, Jack? There's nothing I can see on ZF's website regarding a new transverse 8AT, and it's big news if they have.
