I own a 2019 X2(second owner). Unfortunately, it didn't come with Carplay nor has a WiFi antenna port in ENTRYNAV2 head unit(confirmed by reading ECU data).
As I read online, there are 2 options:
- Get an ID6 head unit (with Carplay activated, VIN recoding etc.).
- Get a MMI bimmertech module.
I have discussed this with 2 guys. One says that ID6 should be straightforward to install (almost plug and play) and that bimmertech's MMI is just another cheap Chinese device. And the other states that bimmertech is the optimal solution for my case, and it will not be easy to change the head unit (new cables, some incompatibilities may appear with other car units).
Which one would you recommend?
