I really find it weird to see you call changing the break pads at 30k miles to be an "issue". Break pads are consumables, and to be honest, I've never gone past 25k miles, on any car I've driven so far, without changing them
I guess it's the difference in driving conditions, in Europe there's much more stop-and-go traffic then the US/Canada.
