'22 X1 (U.S.) living in Italy

Ciao everyone! U.S. military member here living in Italy with his family! We recently purchased a new X1 xDrive28i (love it btw) and we kept U.S. maps since we will eventually return back home, although not for a while.

Unfortunately bc we kept the U.S. maps it seems that CarPlay isn't available or just not accessible in the car (something the dealer failed to mention). I've emailed BMW Assist about the situation and provided all the documents to complete the "Warranty Validation Process" and then moved onto "Electronic Subscriber Agreement", which was then successfully mapped to my account…whatever that means.

Unfortunately it says I have to "Update BMW Assist" but it's grayed out and says "Login error, connection not possible". This is likely because it can't reach the U.S.?

Is my Apple Car Play dreams dead in the water or is their salvation out there for me?

Thank you for any advice/inputs. Looking to learn a lot about the vehicle from here and rack some miles/kilometers in it!
