I can see how the big date aspect is helpful to folks like me who have faltering vision. Over the past lustrum, I've come to "get over" the idea of using my watches to know the date because except for the ones that have a "big date," I can barely see the date aperture, much less the date displayed in it. LOL
That said, the specific model you pictured isn't visually appealing enough to me that I'd buy it for its date legibility, but other persons may feel differently, and that's fine.
