So I ordered a oil change kit from a board sponsor and went to change the oil... 1200 mile change on a 230xi.
I drain the oil and pull the old filter out... and when I look at it versus what I ws given, it looks like the wrong filter.. You can see the new and old filter..
Did I get the wrong filter? Also, how do you remove the filter from the cap to replace it?
BTW, I had to put the old filter back in..
Oh.. and the oil filter is a bear to remove.. where it's stuffed in the back! I did torque it back to 25nm, which was on the box of the new filter. You need a 27mm socket to remove the oil filter.
