We have the Performance model, my guess is that you'll be surprised by how much fun it is compared to the 2014 550i. I have a 2018 X5 50i which has the same engine as your 550i. Good luck.
Used 3 series are pretty good values and there are so many BMW dealers in the area that you can probably swing a really nice CPO deal.
