I had one of those once, at my last house. It worked OK. Big issue was though, it lacks the power to get through the really thick stuff and will bog down. If the grass gets too tall, or if you have a thick lawn, it tends to come out a bit uneven. But for smaller yards it isn't a big deal, just pop the weedeater part out and even up the thick spots.

Now, at my current house, both my front and back yards are naturally forested with a big creek in the back. Not a blade of grass in sight! Only thing I have to do is spray for weeds every 2-4 weeks. I don't miss mowing.
