I run Macs, but my non-techie FIL was able to get this to upgrade his ancient Dell laptop to Win 10. Be advised, if it's a Dell, the wifi driver will not work. Once it shows up as Win 10, you'll either need a LAN cable connection or have a thumb drive with the Win 10 Dell wifi driver on it.
