Is your engine run-in yet ?
Mine sounds great at Redline , in fact I've hit the limiter in 2nd, 3rd and 4th. I'll agree thats it's not as fast as a 330i , but it sure sounds great - I don't consider it harsh. Maybe get it checked out at the dealer ?
