I am wondering if the Advance Auto Parts guy is trying to sell me battery and hence is not being completely honest. Thoughts?

I have now bought a battery charger/maintainer and I am going to see if charging the battery restores my ASS function. Any insight from you all experienced users is greatly appreciated.
It can work for a while, but eventually, you will need a new battery.
