I actually thought the same thing for the noise. To be loudest I would have to replace the entire tubing from the throttle body to the intake. The problem first is that they used those funky crimp clamps .. and mine is conveniently not accessible, so I would actually have to figure out a way to cut that thing off before I could get the tubing off! Then if I could get an aluminum pipe with the right bend all the way it would be awesome. I saw similar designs with the mini's, but they have an extra tubing outlet that does not look to be present in the m35i. I tried to be geeky and calculate the surface area differences, but I know my calculation has flaws. The only way would be for me to dyno it... and since right now it's not a lot more audible I may just leave it stock.
