Well I guess I should say first that I doubt there is a gain in purely the filter. To test, the best method would be to put a manometer below the stock filter, inside the airbox just at the opening to the MAF. If it reads any vacuum at WOT well then maybe.
For sound, that will require getting the plastic pipe from airbox to turbo replaced with something that doesn't muffle it. At that point, getting the airbox out of there will make the turbo more audible. But unlikely to see much HP (1 or 2 at most).
