YES!
One of the best decisions I ever made with my X5 was ditching run flats. They will be going bye bye on the X2 at some point in the future as well.
Unless you have a history of getting serious flat tires (like '2-second flats i.e. blowouts, sideway tears etc) or perhaps travel across vast stretches of desolate highway in austere climates, most people can do without them. I go years & years without getting a nail or whatnot in a tire. Wife not so much, but even with her, it's always a slow-leak kinda thing that can be handled without putting on a spare even if we one on whatever vehicle we have a leaky tire on.
I carry a plug kit & a can of fix-a-flat. If either of those won't do the job roadside assistance will take it from there, although I've never had to go that route (& I drive a lot between work, commuting, & pleasure driving).
