The user is highlighting a common trait with the car and not necessarily a problem. Not every person who owns an X1 X2 drives the same and expects the same from his/her vehicle. If it is such an insurmountable problem, they should be getting onto BMW to highlight it. If enough people complain then BMW might respond with programming. Other than that the Original Poster should consider using the paddles for shifting. After all, they are there for reasons such as this.
Perhaps his transmission should have a crystal ball modification or a software injection of clairvoyance. This is a joke by the way!
