It is probably around 0.7mm. That is what most German Bosch plugs are gap'd at. I did look up your model on
www.realoem.com Seems there are two engines for the e87 118i.
Which engine do you have? N43 or N46 ???
N43
NGK ZKBR7AP-HTU gap = 0.8mm
N46
NGK IZFR6H-11 gap = 1.1mm
