The only reason I'm looking to change the pads out is because that annoying message won't turn off unless I change the sensor, right? My indie guy quoted me at $460 for front pads, sensor and labor....seem fair?

I would just buy the set from Amazon and bring them to your trusted mechanic. You can save a bunch.
