I just took delivery of a new X1 (UK) and there is no HDD. Not a massive issue, you have to use a USB drive instead. I just ordered a tiny SanDisk Cruiser 16GB from Amazon for £5 and plan to leave it in the car - the USB slot is under the centre arm rest, and this tiny USB drive only protrudes about 5mm, so ideal.

So your standard USB port is in a different place to my 2020 LCI X1 xDrive 2.0i M Sport? I have all my music on a 32GB USB 3 drive that is plugged into the USB port forward of the twin cupholders that have a sliding cover.
I have the later high-speed USB C port below the armrest.
