Windshield polishing
I had a scratch on the driver's side where it seems the previous owner ran the wipers without the blade in the wiper arm. I have a friend who polishes scratched business windows for a living and he polished the scratch out on my windshield. It seems like a job for a professional, and even then there was a slight waviness to part of the glass, which I adjusted to. The windshield looks much better. I didn't want to go through the expense and potential problems replacing the windshield. So, you might want to see if you can find that type of business who would be willing to polish a windshield.
