Yeah I've tried that with no success. The poor old Sony has had a hard life and I'm pretty sure the USB C jack has been damaged inside the housing. The charging LED will light if you manage to wiggle the cord just right but it's impossible to hold it there for more than a few seconds. I've also tried known working cables with the same result. Like I said it's been thoroughly abused on a daily basis for a few years now so I don't mind replacing it. Thanks for the tip though.
