Wow, this was the easiest thing I've ever done to a car. I did option 1 from the original poster and only had to code the first three items and everything works (with the switch mod).
I figure this alone paid for the dongle and app as $65 is a small price to pay for potentially not getting rear ended on the autobahn (US spec driver in Germany). I drive through some ridiculous fog every day to get to work.
Thanks everyone for posting this. Just awesome. Now to tackle this on the wife's Mini...
