If so, YAY!!! Somehow I don't think so.
Otherwise, you pay GST UNLESS it is a car owned by a business that is registered for GST and can claim it back.
Even so, one ALWAYS pays a tax of a sort on cars & their accessories, even after claiming back GST - it's called Fringe Benefits Tax or FBT.
I've been paying it for 20 years on my company cars. No way out of it if you want the car to be on the company with all benefits.
One proviso. If you can import goods for under AUD$1,000.00 from OS, GST does not apply. |
