Why does everyone have to be running almost identical engines? Would be interesting to see some turbocharged V6s running against NA V12s. Its clear that weight is a huge factor currently with cars sometimes lapping .2-.5 seconds a lap just because of a drop in the amount of gas on board.
They will still stop for tires -- but I agree with the engines - may the best engine design win --

F1 has been at the forefront of technological design and ingenuity, since rich guys 1st closed public roads and held
"Grands Prix" in the 1900's.
EVERYTHING (worth talking about) that is in or on a modern car, began life as a "crazy idea" in F1:
- Seatbelts
- Disc Brakes
- ABS
- etc, etc
It is VITAL to the sport AND the technological advancement of consumer car safety and development -- to allow F1 to experiment with radical ideas -
