I've had the same happen to me before. I've learned to deploy "you're right, I should have just done that", "That's great" and "I've got a lot I need to get finished in the next few minutes."
We have a few in here that will only communicate when they need something, oddly enough these are the people that I don't mind to chat with as they are self aware. Unfortunately 90% of the people in this building are factory workers. Each and every one of them knows how to do my job better than I do and I have to hear about it on a daily basis. There have been a few times that I have responded with "If you can do this job more effectively than I can then why did they call me out of the blue to offer me this position rather than just giving you the job."
