I don’t have them but I have no regrets, when I need more space for luggage I simply lower one of the seat backs.
Probably the only useful aspect of having this optional is that you can lower back rests using a button in the luggage compartment, while without the optional you have to pull a handle close to the seats.

No they are not.
The sliding rear seats give 2.5cm more leg space.
Checked it 100%.
