If it's the lag, it puzzles me why it's relatively okay when engine's cold, but not good when engine's hot. Seems like heat-soak I had in an older turbo car that had a top mount intercooler.

The BMS pedal tuner definetely helps with responsiveness and being able to 'throttle steer'... But doesn't help in the lag from takeoff. Still worth doing.
