If using a PC/Mac, use ublock origin browser add-on to get rid of YouTube adds. There are plenty others too which also do it.

On android (not sure about iPhone) you can use Firefox with the ublock add-on, then use that instead of the YouTube app. Again, blocks all yt adds. Not sure if that functionality is only available in the firefox nightly (beta) app. Bonus there is background playing, so you can switch apps or even lock your device with a video (audio) still playing.
