Yes, the 80 vs 90 is the aspect ratio. Higher the number, the greater the width of the sidewall. This translates to a slightly larger overall diameter of the tire when all other factors are the same.
Given the greater discrepancy in tire diameter, driving long term on spare isn't a good idea.
