As the title states I am torn between the two, would really like to buy this X1. I feel like you are just asking for it trying to keep a BMW for 8+ years.

Engine not being naturally aspirated concerns me on longevity -

2.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo inline 4-cylinder, 16-valve 228-hp engine. Combines a twin-scroll turbocharger with variable valve control (Double-VANOS and Valvetronic) and high-precision direct injection.

Overall all the bells and whistles always concern me, LED in the front and rear headlights, oil cooler, HPFP & water pump. I just don't know if I want to be a part of the huge repair bills. As this is a new chasis being the guinea pig could prove to be costly on an unproven model.

Would sDrive 28i be a better option than the xDrive 28i as far as transmission since the xDrive is somewhat front wheel with a variable kick in AWD (still need to read more on this)?
