Having come a car with the lovely Z8 auto with electronic shifter, my biggest bugbear with my F48 is the awful 1990s style auto shifter.
Even my wife's humble 116i has the electronic shifter!

Trouble is, I hear the F48 electronic shifter is mated with a DCT gearbox - and from what I read these can be very jerky in stop-start city traffic and are whiplash inducing when changing down, like when coming up to stop at a junction.

How do you find it?
No, the one I have is mated to the AIsin 8-AT auto — not as good as the ZF-8AT, but much better than any DCT I've experienced. But lower model X1's do have the 7-DCT
