I'd be pretty concerned that it did not go into Park when commanded. But if you're careful to avoid the trigger I guess it's something that doesn't make an emergency.
Keyless cars will keep running if the key goes out of range, but they have various anti-theft and safety measures around the condition. At some point, many of them will refuse to move, or slow down in the expectation they'll stop and immobilize. But I don't believe there are hard and fast rules about it, it depends on the manufacturer and the model.
