Lungs usually look like that from aspiration pneumonia, inhaling stomach contents where the stomach acid burns the lungs. Likely leads to lung scarring and permanent impaired function.

While the odds are that if you get this virus you will live, you might be pretty messed up long term. You might have no symptoms at all.

Again, I wasn't too worried about this until I saw these images. I am sure there are plenty of others out there. Scary stuff indeed. I do worry about my elderly family members as it seems to disproportionately strongly affect boomers.
