Actually Kris the OEM bulbs are not 4300k like the kits, they are 4100k (4100 k Philips/Osram OEM HID D2S).

Here is an OEM DENSO ballast and 4100k OEM bulb kit I had.

You can see the bulbs brand new, then the color shift after 100+ hrs.
OEM Bulbs I got from BMW are infact 4300k, not 4100k as you've stated.

As I mentioned, some of the BMW's come with OEM 5k bulbs, 85122+ they are labelled as. These color shift after about 100hrs.

The picture you've shown is a D2R bulb, I dont think any of the new BMW's have D2R reflector based bulbs. They are all D2S
