Regards to your premature wear comment, I had to replace my rear pads at only 25k on my 2018 XDrive. The car was usually driven very conservatively and rarely with any hard braking. The fronts still have several mm left that should last me another 15 to 20k miles. Generally, front pads should wear much sooner than rear pads, not the other way around.

I believe (and this is a lot of speculation) the rear pad material composition was not designed well for use on a SAV/AWD drivetrain. When I DIY'd the rear brake job, there was a recent part update to the pads, which I assume was to upgrade to a more durable option.

In terms of where to get it serviced, I cant offer much advice as I financed my car and DIY'd the repair myself. The best way to definitively answer your question would likely be in your leasing paperwork, which should have terms around servicing, if any exist. I wouldn't want to lead you astray on this issue and possibly create problems for you down the road.
