Replacing brake pads on leased vehicles.

Happy New Year,

Been a while since I posted on here. Nice to be back.

Question. My 2018 is reporting that I need to replace the brakes rear and front. I haven't checked with BMW, but imagine this is going to be pricey.

I am leasing the BMW, and the lease ends in 2021. It seems odd that the brakes are already going. It's not like I am driving the car hard. Just normal city driving.

Anyhow, do I need to use BMW OEM brakes serviced by BMW, or can I just go to any mechanic that I trust to get my brakes done (and save $)? Will this affect the lease?

Derek
