I also use the same Liqui Moly 5W30 for 25k miles now for the improved engine and turbo lubrication reasons. At least according to Liqui Moly's claim of better protection. Engine has been great so far with no problems.

To OP, if you want to carry spare oil in the car, you cant go wrong with the specs in the manual regardless of the viscosity grade that came from factory. Get a bottle of 0W20 BMW spec oil and you'll be good.
