Those are super cars though. Did you mean you wish the M8 was also going to be a super car to directly compete with the R8 and the AMG GT? Because it's not going to be a super car so it won't compete against those.
I have to agree - I don't see the point of yet another heavy coupe GT car that costs a fortune.

If I ever spend close to 100k on a car it won't be a slick 2 door limo, it'll be a second hand R8, Turbo S or McLaren... (Unless the i8 evolves into something super). It will certainly not be a car that'll be worth 20k after 10 years
Yes, for you a $100k used car may be fine. I think the first consideration people make when shopping within a budget is new or used and they rarely cross the line once decided. New is new and used is certainly not new.
