I keep reading comments like this on bimmerpost and it just ain't true, at least according to ALL road test reviews I've ever read! Admittedly I've not driven either but just because it was a RWD based chassis does not mean it drove better!! The major car journals describe the current X1 as a night & day improvement over the old car which, despite being built on an e90 chassis, apparently did NOT drive much like an e90  |
This. I don't know where all these posters are getting their info from. The E84 is complete garbage compared to a F48 in every single aspect: driving dynamics, design, features, etc. Even while being FWD biased.
We've had both. The F48 is the first new BMW in our family we intend on buying out, it's THAT good. The Mini platform worked wonders for it.
