Not anymore, no more engine mode changes to increase or decrease power levels after last year to combat mercedes and their party mode. So whatever engine setting you set in quali is what you get during the race, you can change to different strats and fuel ratios but peak power output is fixed now. Error correction is allowed to disable failing sensors via fault modes.

Also no engine manipulations are allowed by engineers, any changes to the car must be done via the driver through the steering wheel inputs. This is stipulated in the rules to prevent engineers from essentially driving the car. That's why hamilton failed the restart where he left brake magic on, because the engineers are not allowed to manually disable it and at certain points iirc a restart engineer advice to the drivers is not permitted as well so Bono couldn't remind lewis to turn off brake magic.
