the router is the original NTL Cable modem.

Not sure I can upgrade anything on it.

It is circa 2002, so maybe it's just come to the end of it's life.

Symptom is that it just drops connection. A quick power off and on and it's back in 20 seconds.

Very annoying.

I'm actually thinking of getting a plug in timer that turns it off for 15 minutes every 2 hours or something...

Of course i could just ring Virgin technical support >...

If it's the same people who gave me 4 new TV boxes before one would actually work longer than 24 hours, I'm not holding any high hopes
