It's probably a wise decision. But there should be no trace of you remove it. Mine had the same issue once and went away and never came back. I happened after giving the car much welly ( driving it very very hard) when I first got it. I put it down to the car being new and just learning and settling in etc. I have since never had the issue arise again. The message stayed on for about 1 minute.
