Filing under "R" for "Rationalization" - it's arguably safer to put the emergency spare on the rear, even if just driving to the nearest service point.
Just how much more is needed to clear? 1/2" (18" wheel)? 1" (19)?
Disappointing, because that wheel has a great hub profile. Very unlike others.
