Have brought three leased cars back to BMW: two with another BMW in the pipeline from the dealer; a third with just a bring back.
All the inspections were very relaxed. The items that I'm aware will matter are tires past spec (and they do have to be pretty worn,) and windshield chips that are significant (that is, should have been replaced before because you would have been silly to drive with them: as I did by the way.) Small dings and undercar scrapes, and even wheel dings were passed.
