There are a lot of things with cell phones that can come back to bite you in the ass. My auto insurance company tried to push me into a 10% discount if I installed a tracking app on my phone that recorded my driving habits. I was like, "Fuq that!!" Last thing I need is for them to deny a claim because I was driving 5MPH over the limit or something. Same with some of the heart rate monitors I use. They have the ability to not only show heart rate, but also do a basic EKG function. But the only way to access the EKG data is by uploading the data to their website. That's a bit too much info out there on the web for my liking. I am aware that there is a lot of info I allow to be gathered just so I can take advantage of one app or another. I weigh the cost of allowing that loss of privacy vs the utility of the app itself. Sometimes it isn't worth the cost, sometimes I'm ok with it.
