Super easy install without any tools required on my 2020 X1.
Just pried apart the 2 piece plastic cover.
Then unclipped electrical plug.
Then applied some pressure on the mirror in downwards (parallel to windshield direction) towards dashboard and at the same time wiggled on the mirror stem a bit to make it slide out of the holder.
Our X1 had all 4 wires connected so the new mirror worked right away without any wiring modifications (new car so would not have been keen on touching the OEM wires...).
