BMW Homelink Mirror swap
I did the same thing. I purchased a BMW Homelink mirror with compass and alarm light & auto-dimming off EBAY. I had my dealer install it at a negotiated hourly rate. No muss, no fuss and it works great! They said that mine was plug and play and took only a few minutes to install. Go figure.
