2018 X2 - so confused

I recently purchased a 2018 CPO X2 for my wife for Christmas. The sales guy said the car was "CarPlay ready" and all I needed to do was go to the Connected Drive store and pay for it. There is no option in the store for Car Play. The service guy says that they just need to activate a code (FSC 143?) but then tells me that if Car Play wasn't activated in the initial build then it can't be added. Their third and final answer is the entire radio and NAV need to be replaced. I am so confused. This started as a $300 activation of Car Play and is now an unspeakable amount of money to retrofit new hardware.

The car has the Premium and Convenience packages with Nav, Professional radio, wireless charging and WiFi hot spot. Can anyone tell me which of the three answers above is real or is there a 4th answer that the dealer didn't get to?
