No biggie. Current equipment can't even max out HDMI 1.3. Buy good/excellent speakers, and they'll last for a VERY long time. Buy a VERY good amp, it will last for a long time too. As for the pre/pro, buy something upgradeable, but don't break the bank. This is probably the last place I'm going to go high end (already have great speakers and amp). If you go w/ front projection, buy a great screen and a good projector. Projectors will get upgraded, screens can last a very very long time. After I have all of that would I worry about dropping serious coin (>$3000) on a pre/pro.
